Our Story

The Connoisseur Project

At Château de Miremont, we believe great wine is born from the winemaker's vision and execution through thoughtful decisions and meticulous attention to detail. While the roots of Miremont reach back generations, the spirit behind our modern revival was shaped by decades of discovering the world’s most legendary bottles, not as a winemaker, but as a devoted taster, a seeker of depth and truth in every glass. The Connoisseur project began not with ambition, but with appreciation for the quiet power of great bottles. To name a few, 1962 Henri Jayer, 1945 Romanée-Conti, 1900 Château Margaux and many others. These icons exemplify the depth and character that continue to inform the vision behind our wines. Here in Château de Miremont, each decision, from harvest to aging, blends technical precision with a visionary approach shaped by memories of the world's greatest wines. It is the imagined expression of what these grapes could become when guided by reverence, intent, and an enduring standard of excellence.

This is not just a vineyard. This is the Connoisseur Project.

Our People

The Connoisseur & The Artisan

William is a lifelong wine connoisseur whose journey began at tasting, collecting, touring and quietly studying the world’s greatest wines long before they became icons. He embarked on this journey in the 1980s, after first tasting the iconic 1982 Château Mouton Rothschild during a trip to Europe, an experience that ignited a passion for fine wine and set him on a path of relentless exploration, to owning now over 5,000 bottles in his private collection. With a deep appreciation for nuance, balance, and provenance, his perspective was shaped by decades of immersion in fine wine, as well as friendships with legendary producers such as the late Henri Jayer and Jean-Louis Chave. Their philosophies, rooted in patience, terroir, and respect, have deeply influenced William’s approach to winemaking. In 2014, William discovered Château de Miremont. Drawn by the old vines and the quiet beauty of the land, he saw not just a vineyard, but an unpolished gem, a place where vision, intention and craftsmanship could come together. His vision is not to replicate the past, but to pass on a lifetime of connoisseurship through every bottle.  At Château de Miremont, each vintage is his way of sharing that quiet knowledge with those who seek the same depth in wine that he has spent a lifetime pursuing.

Estate Manager (Directeur de Domaine) Lei is the Artisan behind the precision and integrity of Château de Miremont. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and deep-rooted pursuit of excellence, Lei is not only a seasoned wine professional but the person who most clearly understands and executes the vision behind the vineyard. A certified French national sommelier with a DUAD diploma from the University of Bordeaux’s Faculty of Oenology, Lei pairs formal training with a rare depth of practical experience. The 14 years of living in France were devoted to studying terroir in its purest form, travelling across every major wine region and working with more than a hundred esteemed winemakers. His journey has always been one of listening, learning, and refining, guided by a reverence for tradition and nature. Since taking over as the estate manager in 2022, Lei has applied his sharp palate and rigorous standards to every facet of vineyard and cellar work, becoming the trusted interpreter of The Connoisseur Project — ensuring that the wines of Château de Miremont reflect not just technical excellence, but the vision of the Connoiseur.

(& The Storyteller)

Agatha, William’s daughter, grew up surrounded by a quiet reverence for excellence. With a deep respect for the family’s roots and a global perspective shaped by years of living, learning, and working internationally, she brings a fresh voice to Château de Miremont’s story. As the one who gathers and shares the stories behind the vineyard, the wines, and the vision, Agatha is the narrator of The Connoisseur Project. Now actively deepening her understanding of wine through WSET studies, she is catching up with the knowledge that has long shaped her father’s world and to accurately interpret these important memories. In uniting her background in culture and communication with her family’s passion, Agatha helps guide Château de Miremont into the world.
