Our Wines

Réserve du Château 2017

  Blend & Technical Details

A refined blend of 45% Grenache and 55% Syrah, this 2017 vintage showcases the depth and complexity of old vines. Aged for 36 months in seasoned oak barrels, the wine reveals a deep garnet hue with brilliant clarity. Alc 14.5%.

Tasting Notes

Layers of dark chocolate, rich mocha, and hints of black truffle unfold, complemented by a vibrant core of red fruits such as redcurrants. The bouquet also carries the distinctive wild herbaceous notes of the Minervois terroir, creating a harmonious balance of rustic charm and elegance. On the palate, the wine is subtly structured with refined tannins and a touch of game, finishing with freshness and a lingering sweetness that enhances its overall balance. The Grenache brings brightness and wild berry notes, while the Syrah contributes structure, spice, and richness.

"I tasted the 2018 vintage of this wine a few months ago, and it had more vitality, purity and elegance than the 2017 – more than simply a year’s youth/less time in bottle. I wonder if this is a vintage difference or whether the winemaking changed a little from 2017 to 2018? Make no mistake, the tannins are extraordinarily lustrous, the acidity runs through the wine like a river of silk, and the fruit has timbre and richness. But it’s cooked fruit, dried fruit, tea-steeped fruit, showing more evolution. Certainly polished, though. I’d probably look at drinking it sooner." - Tamlyn Currin

Réserve du Château 2018

Blend & Technical Details

This 2018 vintage is a harmonious blend of 40% Grenache and 60% Syrah, aged 24 months in seasoned oak barrels and an additional 12 months in cement tanks, creating a wine of exceptional structure and elegance. Its brilliant ruby-red color reflects its youthful vibrancy. Alc 15.5%.

Tasting Notes

A delicate and refined bouquet of blackcurrants, blackberries, and blueberries, with underlying notes of toasted hazelnut, violet flowers, and a touch of spice. The wine delivers a silky texture and a full-bodied palate, balanced by precise acidity and polished tannins, leading to a long, satisfying finish with a whisper of sweetness reminiscent of southern French reds. The Grenache provides aromatic complexity and juiciness, while the Syrah lends depth, boldness, and silky tannins.

"An attractive nose of cooked cherries, dark-red roses and wet humus. The alcohol is high, according to the label, but in balance in the glass. The fruit is sweet but not jammy – those cherries, dark, gently cooked, taste mellifluous. The tannins are long and wide, but somehow have a silken diaphanous presence in the wine, allowing the lambency of the fruit to suffuse everything. What I love most, however, is the beautiful, beautiful underlay of earthy, loamy, forest-mushroom freshness that brings the wine tremendous freshness, depth, length and elegance. And this really is an extraordinarily elegant wine, in such a sweet spot for drinking right now." - Tamlyn Currin
